SUMMERVILLE – Today Summerville Town Councilman from District 1 Aaron Brown announced his bid for reelection. Brown has served on Council since 2005. Brown previously served on the DD2 School Board prior to that giving him almost 20 years of time in public office.

Councilman Brown took to the popular social media group Positively Summerville to make his official announcement, earlier than most expected. Here are the two photos he posted:

So far no challengers have filled to run against Councilman Brown, with the filling deadline still months away it’s anyone’s guess if Aaron will have one or multiple challengers in this November’s election season. Aaron’s most recent work in 2021 includes a recent Council pay increase, that he was vocally in support of that doubles his yearly salary from $7,500 to $15,000 per year. Aaron also recently pushed forward the resurfacing of Maple St within his district.
